// key findings
⚠️
Tool descriptions don’t match what handlers do
1 tool describes read intent but its handler mutates — get_slide_image (line 721: process = subprocess.run(cmd, capture_output=True, text=True, check=False, timeout=timeout_seconds))
No credential exfiltration, no sensitive file access, no obfuscation
Static analysis found nothing flowing your secrets to unexpected places.
Open source with a license and README
Anyone can audit the code, the license is declared, and the publisher documents what it does.

These names and descriptions are the publisher's own, read from the source code. We print them as written. Our assessment is the findings above, not this list.

create_or_clear_presentation

Creates a new, empty presentation with the given filename, or clears an existing one. Overwrites if the file exists.

add_slide

Adds a new slide to the presentation using a specified layout index. Common layouts: 0=Title, 1=Title+Content, 5=Title Only, 6=Blank. Returns the index of the newly added slide.

add_title_and_content

Adds text to the title and main content placeholder of a specific slide. Assumes the slide layout has these placeholders (e.g., layout index 1).

add_textbox

Adds a textbox with specified text, position, and dimensions (in inches) to a slide. Set font_size_pt to 0 or less to use the default font size.

add_shape

Adds an AutoShape (like RECTANGLE, OVAL, FLOWCHART_PROCESS) to a slide. Specify position and dimensions in inches. Optionally add text to the shape. Returns a confirmation message including the unique ID of the created shape.

add_connector

Adds a connector shape between two existing shapes identified by their IDs. Defaults to an ELBOW connector from the right side of the start shape to the left side of the end shape.

delete_shape

Deletes a specific shape from a slide using its unique ID.

modify_shape

Modifies properties of an existing shape identified by its ID. Allows changing text, position, size, font attributes, fill color, and line style. Only provided parameters are changed.

add_picture

Adds a picture to a slide from provided image data. Specify position in inches. Optionally specify width OR height in inches to scale. If neither width nor height is given, the image's native size is used.

get_slide_image

Renders a specific slide as a PNG image using LibreOffice and returns it as an Image object. Requires LibreOffice installed and accessible on the server. May be slow. Use get_slide_content_description for a faster, text-based check.

get_presentation_file_b64

Returns the content of the presentation file encoded as a Base64 string. Useful if the client cannot handle MCP resources or direct file paths.

batch_update

Performs a series of operations on a presentation in a single batch. Similar to Google Slides API batchUpdate. Allows creating slides, adding shapes, text, pictures, connectors, modifying and deleting shapes. Operations are performed sequentially. If any operation fails, the entire batch is aborted,

Tool annotations

No tools have read-only/destructive annotations

Add readOnlyHint or destructiveHint annotations to every tool so hosts can warn users before invoking.

All four hints declared on every tool

12/12 tools missing one or more hints — create_or_clear_presentation (missing: readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint); add_slide (missing: readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint); add_title_and_content (missing: readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint), +9 more. OpenAI's directory rejects tools where any of the four hints are missing or non-boolean.

For every tool, set all four hints (readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint) to explicit true/false values that match the handler’s actual behaviour.

Descriptions match behaviour

1 tool describes read intent but its handler mutates — get_slide_image (line 721: process = subprocess.run(cmd, capture_output=True, text=True, check=False, timeout=timeout_seconds))

Rename the tool, rewrite the description, or move the side-effect into a separate clearly-named tool.

Tool test coverage

8/12 tools referenced in tests (67%)

Write tests that reference each tool by name so every tool has at least one test.

Tool description accuracy

get_slide_image: description implies read-only but handler writes/deletes/executes

Update tool descriptions to accurately reflect all capabilities — especially write, delete, or execute operations.

// full audit trail
The findings above are the summary. The full trail, every check we ran, each deduction, the network hosts observed and the dependency advisories, goes to verified publishers, along with an alert whenever a new one lands. Verified publishers can also review each finding and dispute it in one click. Publisher corrections have sharpened several of our checks this month, because the maintainer knows the codebase better than any scanner.
// improvement guidance — verified publishers only
We have 5 concrete improvements we can share with the publisher of this MCP. Each comes with specific guidance to raise the trust score.
